Easy Chocolate Brownies
8oz semi-sweet baking chocolate
¼ cup evaporated milk
¾ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup sugar
¼ cup (½ stick) butter or margarine
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt
¾ cup chopped nuts (optional)
First break the chocolate into pieces and chop the nuts. Then grease
(butter) a 9 inch square baking pan and preheat the oven to 350°F.
Next, put the evaporated milk together with the sugar and butter
into a medium size saucepan. Now, stirring constantly, cook over
a medium heat until the mixture boils.
Remove the pan from the heat, add the chocolate and stir until
the chocolate has melted. Then beat in the eggs and the vanilla
extract, and stir in the flour, salt and baking soda, as well as
the nuts if liked. Stir until well blended.
After this, pour the mixture into the prepared pan and bake for
30 to 35 minutes or until the brownie begins to come away from the
sides of the pan.
Then leave to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before
cutting the chocolate brownie into 16 squares. Simply delicious.
