We have a great collection of original, free recipes, plus cooking tips & information for you.

Just Chocolate Brownies

½ cup (2oz) self-rising flour
½ teaspoon of baking powder
4oz (½ cup or 8 tablespoons) soft margarine
2 eggs
8oz sugar
1½ oz cocoa
Pinch of salt

Confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar) for sprinkling

Begin by lining the sides and base of a 7 inch square shallow baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Then preheat the oven to 325°F.

Next sift the flour followed by the cocoa into a mixing bowl; to this add and stir in the sugar. Then break the eggs into a small bowl and whisk together lightly. Now add the margarine and the beaten eggs to the dry ingredients and mix together until smooth.

After this dollop this sweet chocolaty mixture into the prepared baking pan, spread out evenly and bake for about 50 minutes.

Then leave the chocolate brownie in the pan to cool before sprinkling with confectioners’ sugar and cutting into squares. Eat.
